Why It Matters

Employers Value Verified Skills

NWSA certification isn't just a credential — it's proof you know the standards behind the work. That matters to every contractor, carrier, and project manager you'll ever work with.

Better Opportunities

More contractors require NWSA certs for every level of the crew. Certified techs get first call.

Higher Earning Potential

Each certification level opens the next pay bracket. TTT-2, A&L, and Foreman each come with a bump.

Demonstrated Competency

The written exam tests the standards — ANSI, OSHA, TIA. Passing proves you know them, not just the fieldwork.

Leadership Readiness

The Foreman cert puts you on paper as the Competent Person responsible for the crew. That's a career-defining shift.

Common Questions

What Tower Techs Ask Before Buying

Yes — NWSA requires active TTT-1 certification before you can sit the TTT-2 exam. A&L, ARC and Foreman all require active TTT-2.
Any TTT-2 certified tech who does antenna and line work — installation, RF testing, PIM, fiber. It's the specialist credential for the people doing that work every day.
Advanced Rigging Concepts is NWSA's newest specialty certification, launched in 2025. You must hold an active TTT-2 to sit for it. NWSA publishes the exam as 95 multiple-choice questions in 150 minutes, weighted across four domains: pre-job planning and drafting the rigging plan (15%), verifying onsite conditions (27%), condition assessments (15%), and executing the rigging plan (43%). Content is keyed to ANSI/ASSP A10.48.
Once you have TTT-2 and real field experience leading a crew. The exam is 45% leadership — it tests HR, OSHA compliance, stop work authority, and crew supervision, not just technical skills.
It took effect September 1, 2026. NWSA states that candidates whose testing environments do not meet all established requirements will not be permitted to take their exam. You must be alone in a private, enclosed room with a door. Anything that offers visibility into the room — the door, a door panel, windows — must be covered for the duration of the exam, and so must any whiteboards, bulletin boards, chalkboards or additional monitors. NWSA has not published what happens to your $274 if your environment fails the check, so do not assume it is refunded or rescheduled — the handbook states exam applications are non-refundable, non-transferable and cannot be cancelled. Set your room up before exam day and confirm anything you are unsure of with NWSA directly.
A laptop or desktop with a webcam, a microphone, a solid internet connection, and NWSA's Guardian secure browser. Phones, tablets/iPads and Chromebooks are not supported. You will need valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID showing your date of birth. Work from a hard desk in a quiet, well-lit room with the door closed — no scratch paper, books, notes or calculator, phone out of reach, and secondary monitors disconnected. The proctor will scan all four walls and your desk by webcam and will monitor you for the full exam.
Every NWSA written exam is $274 — TTT-1, TTT-2, A&L, ARC and Foreman alike. NWSA publishes no separate or discounted rate for retests or recertification, so a failed attempt means paying the full fee again. You must also wait at least 30 days between attempts on a failed exam. Other published fees: $35 for a replacement certification card, $30 for changes requested after you submit an application. This guide costs a fraction of one retake.
NWSA certifications are valid for five years, and you recertify by retaking and passing the same exam that is current at that time. All recertification requirements must be completed in the 12 months before your expiration date, and NWSA states there is no grace period once a certification has expired. One exception: NWSA has said ARC recertification requirements are not yet finalized and will be announced when complete.
Yes. All five guides bought separately — TTT-1 $39, TTT-2 $49, A&L $49, Foreman $59, ARC $69 — come to $265. Career Pack = $179 for all five, so you save $86 and one key opens every course. The Technician Package ($79) is the two-course option: TTT-1 + TTT-2 only.
60 days per guide from the date you activate your license key. TTT-1 is 30 days. You receive your key instantly via email at purchase.
